The Nd:YAG laser (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet; Nd:Y3Al5O12) emits infrared-like light which penetrates deeper skin levels compared to other types of lasers. This type of infrared-like light is easily absorbed by hemoglobin and melanin chromophores, and the light heat will break pigment down into small particles without harming the surrounding skin cells during the treatment process.
Nd:YAG laser emits laser beams in three different wavelengths:
532nm: surface skin layer treatment, effective for the removal of endogenous skin lesions with light pigment and other exogenous skin issues.
1064nm: deep skin layer treatment, effective for the removal of endogenous skin lesions with deep pigment, all types of tattoos, and stubborn exogenous skin issues.
1320nm: usually applied with carbon lotion, the carbon lotion is broken down to small particles after lasering which can achieve the functions of skin rejuvenation, pore shrinking, freckle removal, skin whitening, deep pore cleaning, and skin oil control.
